About Felix Rocha<\/h2>\n

Quinta da Ribeira is located in Meca, in the medieval council of Alenquer, and is nowadays headquarters of Sociedade Agr\u00edcola F\u00e9lix Rocha. This society began wine production in the mid XIX century, by the strengh of enthusiasm of Mr. Felix Rocha, grandfather of the present managers.<\/p>\n

The fourth generation of the family recognized, since 1991, the need for continuous investment in the production. There has been a complete restoration of the vineyards and the cellar.<\/p>\n

Nowadays it explores several hectares of vines, distributed between Quinta da Ribeira, Quinta do Casal do Mato, Quinta do Casal Novo, Quinta de S\u00e3o Cristov\u00e3o, Quinta do Baracho, Quinta das Sete Pedras, Quinta da Amoreira and Quinta do Morais.<\/p>\n

The vineyards are planted in clay and limestone soils, in smooth steep hillsides with a solar exposure to the south. In these vineyards you can find national varieties like Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz (Aragonez), Fern\u00e3o Pires, Arinto, Alvarinho and Moscatel, and internacional varieties like Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Alicante Bouschet, Caladoc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.<\/p>\n

The variety of wines is the result of grape varieties, i.e. the different types of grape and the way they are produced. Our red wines are rich, with a good aroma and fine structure, resulting in a very fragrant and elegant product! The white wines are fresh, with good acidity and a mineral and citrus profile. They are very versatile wines with excellent structure and balance.<\/p>\n

All the wines have great potential for ageing in the bottle. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

We have a global concern about the environment so we work in an integrated protection system.<\/p>\n

The Sociedade Agr\u00edcola F\u00e9lix Rocha Cellar went through a major technological remodeling in 2003. In addition to the full modernization of vinification equipment it was also actualized the harvesting, enabling a partial mechanical Harvest of the grapes.<\/p>\n

We have, therefore, the best conditions for making high quality wines, in the vinification process as well as in ageing process, for which a special room was created, allowing the wine to age in oak barrels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
